I’m actually into a lot of fandoms, but I’ve never really been that deeply invested in any of them. I don’t have any other f/o besides Joshua :3 I watch anime, movies, and play games quite a lot, but I’ve been pretty busy for the past two years, I haven’t been playing games or watching anime so I might be completely clueless about newer or currently airing anime/fandoms :(But I do have lists of games, movies and anime I’ve played and watched, just in case! :D As for my general hobbies, mostly art stuff. I paint (oil paintings), make webtoons/manga (ID), Slightly into fashion since I actually majored in it :3

Esme, Rosarian Bearer who was raised as an orphan at Glaidemond Abbey in central Rosaria, living a relatively ordinary life despite her status. After the tragedy of the Night of Flame, Esme was branded by the Holy Empire of Sanbreque and sent to Dhalmekia few years after serving the Empire. She has lived there ever since.

Joshua Rosfield, the protagonist’s younger brother, the Dominant of the Phoenix, and the rightful heir to the Duchy of Rosaria. After the tragedy of the Night of Flame, he was spirited away by the Undying and spent years investigating Ultima’s plans.

A little about them

Their story mainly follows the events of FFXVI’s blank period [before the five-year time skip]. Their first meeting taking place in The Dhalmekian Republic, after the destruction of Mothercrystal in Drake’s Head and the destruction of Cid’s first Hideaway. Esme was living there as a fugitive, while the Undying had their hideout in Tabor. Their relationship starts as enemies to lovers, mostly from Esme’s side. She initially believed Joshua was the mysterious second Eikon of Fire, Ifrit, who had appeared during the Night of Flame. With Joshua hiding his identity as Margrace for thirteen years while the world believed the Phoenix had died. She suspected Ifrit was connected to Annabella’s betrayal.- Year 873 -
Esme accidentally witnessed Joshua wielding fire magick while he and Jote were crossing the Velkroy Desert on their way to Tabor. Unlike Bearers, who typically use magick for small, mundane conveniences in their everyday lives, Joshua fought with it unlike anything Esme had ever seen. It immediately raised her suspicions. After both parties finished dealing with the bandits, Esme wasted no time confronting Joshua. She cornered him while he was still weakened from sealing Ultima within himself at Drake’s Head, demanding answers.
And that was where their story began.-Their dynamic-
After their misunderstandings are resolved, Esme becomes calmer and quieter. Having lived as a fugitive, she’s used to stealing whatever she needs (even her clothes and gears were stolen) so proper manners and society’s rules are rather difficult to her. Joshua is more talkative, patient, and socially skilled. While they travel, he teaches her how to be kinder, more patient, and less easily fooled by merchants. In return, Esme is often clumsy, absent-minded, and reckless, but she never minds his teasing. She’d rather see him laugh than act serious.In short: Joshua talks, Esme nods.
